Frequently asked questions
Guests must be able to swim a minimum of 50 meters and be comfortable in water.
Be capable of paddling 5km a day for 4 days. An average healthy individual that engages in some form of regular physical exercise should be completely fine.
For maximum enjoyment, we recommend you to have some experience paddleboarding and be confident with your balance on flatwater or slow moving rivers and harbours, but if you are still relatively new to SUP or feeling rusty after a winter off the water, we will have a variety of regular tours and coaching offerings available from April onwards to help you build confidence, skills, balance and fitness.
Please note, you will be asked to complete a personal details and medical information form after booking. Guests arriving with a physical or psychological condition or contraindicator that were not declared in the personal details form may be excluded from participating in certain activities. Contra-Indicators could include spinal problems, epilepsy, pregnancy, heart conditions or psychosis.
If you are uncertain about your suitability for the trip, please contact Michelle in confidence on 07789 956705 to discuss in more detail.
While our coaches and guides do have public and private liability insurance - Personal travel insurance is absolutely essential when venturing abroad. When selecting a travel insurance policy at a very minimum you should be covered for medical expenses and emergency repatriation.
We strongly recommend that you purchase insurance the same day that that you book your holiday in case of unexpected circumstances and that your policy covers cancellation, personal liability, paddleboarding, Grade 3 white water activities, curtailment, loss of luggage, personal belongings and anything that may be specific for you (possible pregnancy, pre-existing medical conditions etc)
Please ensure you have your policy number and emergency telephone number for your insurance company with you on the expedition (a card or email with contact details for example). If this is unavailable please ensure you have the necessary information required by your insurance company in case of an emergency.
Please do not worry about packing, all specialist equipment including boards, paddles and leashes, are included in the price. Due to the warm weather, soft sand and lack of entrapment risks, PFD's, footwear, and Waist Belts are not mandatory, however if you would like to bring your own from home you are more than welcome to.
You will mostly need your normal sea paddling clothes, swimwear, a towel and holiday clothes for the free time in the afternoons and evenings. We recommend swimwear, board shorts, rash vests a drybag and comfortable clothing for activities in a warm location.
We are happy to provide you with a recommended kit list and advice on where to buy if needed, if you would like more specific guidance.

Early November in Arguinguin is generally perfect winter sun weather, temperatures range from a 26 degrees to cooler 19 degrees, with water temperatures of approx 22 degrees with approximately 7hrs of sunshine a day.
However as it is a mountainous region, pack for all weathers with SPF, shorts, t-shirts and Swimwear, but also one or two warmer layers for the evening or mountain hikes and a compact pack a mac raincoat which hopefully won’t be needed but is better to have just in case!
Most of the areas that we paddle in will be sheltered water and protected by the surrounding cliffs and landscape, however your safety and enjoyment is paramount, so in the event of adverse or unsafe weather, we reserve the right to adjust the itinerary and locations if needed.
Paddling under the influence or while hungover isn’t recommended and can be a safety risk, but Arguinguin has a variety of local bars and restaurants for guests to enjoy.
There will definitely be opportunities to let your hair down and relax with a drink or two if that is your thing, but also lots of opportunity to avoid and find alternative activities if you would prefer.
All alcohol is at our guest’s own cost.
