The Spinlock Alto belt pack flotation aid is a manually inflated flotation device offering 50N buoyancy (ISO12402-5 50N Approved), worn in a simple, lightweight, and compact belt pack around the waist.
 
Only suitable for experienced paddlers who can confidently self rescue in deep water.   
This PFD is worn like a bumbag or belt and can be positioned at the frontor back of the body to prevent movement restriction.  
Unlike normal PFD's it doesn't not automatically enable you to float if you fall into the water, you activate it manually when needed by pulling an activation toggle, which triggers a 16g CO2 Cyclinder to inflate a 75N bouyancy tube. 
Once the Tube is inflated, you pull it under your arms and across your chest to create a horseshoe float.  It also has a secondary oral inflation tube for manually topping up air or to add more bouyancy if needed. 
After inflating, it will need to be reset before your next outing.  You can do this by releasing the air using the mouthpiece, fold the bladder into its guidelines, replace the CO2 Cylinder and tuck it all back neatly into the pouch.  
 
This new generation of flotation device will give paddlers a compact PFD solution that doesn't restrict range of movement, but still offers better peace of mind and safety on the water than paddling with no PFD at all.    
 
To wear in conjunction with a quick release waist belt - put the waist leash on first, then put the Alto over the top, ensure the toggle for the QR belt is completely clear and visible and hanging outside of the Alto Pack.  Or stagger them so QR Toggle is at the front and Alto is at the back.
